International superstars were out in force last night at the much anticipated American Music Awards Ceremony and we’ve loved checking out all the outfit hits and misses of the evening.
The first celebrity to wow us, was super slim Christina Aguilera, who looked a shadow of her former voluptuous self we had seen the year before. The 32 year old wore a daring, figure hugging white dress with cutaway panels, showing off her newly svelte frame. The star wore her platinum peroxide locks in a bouncy curls. Her hair was sleek, smooth and straight at the parting, before falling curls. Christina looked reminiscent of old screen icon Marilyn Monroe with her blonde hair and white dress. She finished the look with a slick of coral lipstick and fluttering false lashes. Her shoes and bag were both sparkling with diamonds, matching her glitzy earrings in true Old Hollywood style. Xtina gets a definite thumbs up from us! The star then changed into a more muted outfit for a performance of her single A Great Big World, wearing her hair in a sleek ponytail with a braided front panel.
Kelly Osborne stayed true to her usual quirky style, rocking a puffball dress by Rami Al Ali and some seriously styled hair. The reality TV star wore her lilac locks in an intricate braided style, with a studded headpiece incorporated into the look. Her full fringe framed her perfectly applied eye makeup and finished off the unique look. While this style may not be for everyone, it definitely suited Kelly, and she looked like she had a ball!
Rihanna collected the coveted Icon Award at the ceremony, and she certainly looked the part. She wore a typically daring ensemble, displaying her toned midriff in a crop top and sheer skirt – giving audience’s a flash of her growing tattoo collection. Rihanna’s hair took a back seat with this style, as she wore her raven locks slicked back, letting her outfit do all the talking. The singer highlighted her pretty features with bronzer and sultry brown eye makeup. The star was overjoyed to collect the award and paused to thank her fans for all their support.
Lady Gaga didn’t disappoint her fans as she turned up in her typical wacky style atop a (fake) horse, with super long flowing locks and a Grecian style purple robe, complete with body armour. This look was a definite improvement on her 2011 Grammy Awards entrance, when she turned up inside a giant egg!
One of our favourite hairstyles had to be Ke$ha’s My Little Pony-esque pastel locks. The star is known for her frequent image changes, and this one is gorgeous – subtle but still a little crazy! We love it! The singer looked confident and happy as she changed from a black dress to studded Daisy Dukes to perform with Pitbull.
