Whilst the Golden Globes was one of the chilliest evenings in Los Angeles so far this year, our favourite celebrities didn’t let this get in the way of their glamorous outfit choices at the 2013 Golden Globes on Sunday. Who do you think looked the best at the awards? Let us know on facebook (click here) or on Twitter (click here).
The event was held at the Beverley Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and honours excellence in film and television – a month before the Academy Awards. Here’s a look at some of our favourites…
Megan Fox Hairstyle
Megan Fox looked stunning despite only recently giving birth to a son. The 26 year old actress wore a Dolce & Gabanna dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch. The fitted nude dress which was a mermaid cut highlighted Megan’s slender frame, which she has bounced back to since the birth of her son. Megan wore her gorgeous brown locks in loose curls swept to the side – a style popular with many of the celebrities at the ceremony.
Her hair looked ultra sleek and smooth – use a serum to get this look, such as John Frieda Frizz Ease which is available from most drugstores. Megan’s hair colour is very versatile and looks great with a tan, but also contrasts beautifully with her paler skin here. Try our Medium Brown (#4) clip in hair extensions to get this look and sweep them to one side before lightly curling with heated tongs. Be sure to always use heat protection spray on your hair extensions to keep them in prime condition.
Amy Adams Hairstyle
38 year old Amy Adams also opted for a nude dress, which blended with her porcelain complexion but highlighted her auburn toned hair. The Marchesa gown was similar in structure to Megan’s, with a fitted bodice flowing into a fishtail hem. She accessorised her outfit with drop earrings and two simple diamond bracelets.
Amy wore her hair up, slicked back in a neat bun but with crimped curls falling down one side of her face. To get her look, use a water based gel and smooth it through the hair. Separate your hair into two sections – one with the majority of hair to be pinned back, and one with the front section. Hair should be arranged in a side parting. To get the crimped curl effect you can swirl your hair around your fingers and pin it in place, leaving for a few hours to set. When you unpin your hair, you’ll be life with loose and irregular waves, similar to Amy’s. Alternatively, if you have a tong with a loose crimping setting, this will have a similar effect!
Hayden Panettiere Hairstyle
Californian girl Hayden Panettiere opted for a structured Roberto Cavalli number, again in the popular nude shade. The stunning 23 year old actress also wore a mermaid style dress, which highlighted her petite frame. She stayed true to her Californian roots with her blonde hair wore down in an on trend centre parting.
Her hair still looked voluminous and healthy – to get this look try using a texturising powder at the roots of your hair which can add body and volume and helps your style to last. Try our 15” double weft full head clip in hair extensions which will help give volume, but not length – essential for a natural celebrity style!
Taylor Swift hairstyle
Taylor Swift showed her ex Harry Styles exactly what he was missing as she showed up in an ultra glamorous backless gown by Donna Karen Atelier which she paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, Rene Caovilla shoes, and an Oroton clutch bag.
The star exuded grown up glamour with her blonde locks slicked back from her face revealing her statement earrings. Straightening your hair before attempting this style will make it easier to control and master this sleek style.
Jennifer Lopez Hairstyle
43 year old Jennifer Lopez looked young for her age wearing a Zuhair Murad long sleeved silk gown featuring an ivory embroidered lace overlay with beading. The intricately detailed dress clung to Jennifer’s toned curves. The singer turned actress looked in incredibly good shape considering her busy schedule looking after her two twins, fathered by Marc Anthony. The Latino star looked healthy thanks to plenty of highlighter on her high cheekbones and bronzer to give her a healthy glow. She wore her hair similar to Megan Fox and Jessica Alba, swept to one side in loose curls.
Jennifer has stayed on trend with ever so slightly ombre locks, as her hair is dark brown at the roots and then gently fades into a lighter brunette shade. If you have ombre hair, it’s still possible to use hair extensions, simply start with the lighter shade at the base of your head, and building up to the darker shade. Use plenty of hairspray for this style, both to keep your hair to one side and to hold the pretty curls in place all night.
Jessica Chastain Hairstyle
Golden Globe nominee Jessica Chastain looked beautiful in a daring plunging sky blue dress which complemented her red hair to perfection.
Cliphair stocks a wide range of ginger and red hair extensions, perfect for recreating this look. Simply part your hair into a centre parting before putting your extensions in. When applying your extensions, avoid putting too many around the sides of your head, as hair will be swept back here.
Apply a serum to tame any stray hairs and sweep back the two front sections, securing with bobby pins. Use a curling tong to curl your hair extensions. Starting halfway down the hair will create loose curls, similar to Jessica’s hair.
